Enhancing Collaboration in Education

Video collaboration and audio visual technology are becoming more prevalent in educational settings, as institutions are realizing the benefits of these services in their online, on-campus and distance learning communities. When students can’t be in class, why not bring the class to them via video? Not to mention the collaboration benefits of using advanced A/V technology – such as interactive displays and touchscreen whiteboards – in educational settings! We want to give our blog readers a look at how AGT serves educational institutions, as well as a quick education client spotlight.

Enhanced Collaboration, Near and Far

As an A/V integrator, AGT helps teachers, staff and students collaborate in the best possible way by taking dated faculty meeting spaces, auditoriums, labs and classrooms and updating the facilities with the latest technology. This can range from simply refreshing existing A/V or video equipment on campus to installing new, innovative solutions such as touchscreen displays and whiteboards. The best part? We’re there every step of the way – from the design process and installation to the proactive management of systems – ensuring everything runs smoothly at all times.

Educational institutions also take advantage of our cloud-based video collaboration service, which successfully connects students and faculty members via video from any location and on any device. Tools are available to easily stream, record and playback lectures, whether it’s content sharing or video communication.

Now that we’ve briefly described some ways in which we serve educational institutions, let’s give you a real-life application.

Education Success Story: Brenau University

If you haven’t read our latest education case study, we’ll fill you in! We recently worked with Brenau University and InFocus to update Brenau’s classroom environments with the Mondopad. In short, Brenau University selected AGT to support the implementation of over 60 Monodpads across multiple campuses and departments. AGT managed the project by bringing in dozens of Mondopads in-house and handling firmware, software and Windows updates prior to installation. We also configured the basic preferences settings requested by Brenau’s IT Department. In addition, AGT identified a design and implementation plan to ensure each campus’ install would be complete in one day. Therefore, disruption of existing class schedules was minimized. Creating an efficient environment that works with each individual department and classroom, while also creating a way for instructors and students to learn in a creative and interactive manner, was imperative. We completed a particularly impressive install in the school’s anatomy lab, which you can find more details on here.

In the end, we were able to get Brenau’s Mondopads up and running with very little class disruption, allowing teachers and students to expand and focus on their education initiatives. AGT continues to support Brenau University’s campus and Mondopad environment.
