FATHOM Technology Receives Product of the Year Award Communications Solutions Magazine honors Applied Global Technologies for its innovation
Rockledge, FL - June 29, 2005 - Applied Global Technologies, proven experts in IP collaboration technologies and solutions, is the winner of Communications Solutions Magazine Product of the Year. Each year the magazine bestows awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinement.
"The winners have demonstrated to the editors of Communications Solutions that their products or services have gone the extra mile to help improve both the customer experience and the ROI for the companies that use them," said Nadji Tehrani, Executive Group Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Communications Solutions.
This year's winners include Lucent Technologies, Polycom, Toshiba, Juniper Networks and Siemens.
The FATHOM collaboration Analyzer (c/A) is the only product which measures network capacity and capability to support H.323 audio and video traffic, allowing customers to determine network readiness for IP Video and "fault isolation" between endpoints and the network to determine the source of common IP video problems of latency, jitter, disconnection and packet loss. AGT recently released version 3.0 which extends network monitoring beyond firewalls. By moving monitoring to the distributed architecture, FATHOM is able to measure network performance for different subnets, firewall systems and disparate networks.
Version 3.0 also monitors network and end point readiness in preparation for video calls, and provides immediate notification of problems while "in-conference" for proactive technical response. Fathom also includes a portal for tracking of endpoint and network status and the status of trouble tickets.
"The FATHOM platform is based on diskless embedded processor technology, providing for reliability in the field and protecting against drive failure," stated Ben Atha, Chief Technical Officer, Applied Global Technology. "With its new single port communication architecture, FATHOM provides a simple way to distribute network analysis and monitoring across a multilayered enterprise network."
FATHOM is available for sale as a stand-alone product package and is available to end users, resellers and integrators. The FATHOM c/A technology includes the FATHOM Commander and FATHOM Analyzer devices in addition to the FATHOM Control software.
The basic package, which monitors up to 30 end points and related network performance, includes: FATHOM COMMANDER Device, COMMANDER CONSOLE Software, User Manual, necessary cables and hard shell travel case. It lists for $26,900. AGT also offers FATHOM EVENT ANALYSIS services for the on-site troubleshooting of conferencing failures by a Senior Certified Engineer with an analysis report and implementation support beginning at $10,000, and a FATHOM PLANNING and DESIGN ANALYSIS for customers seeking to convert from ISDN to IP for $25,000, including one week of data collection, network QOS analysis, a full assessment report and implementation recommendations.
"The new FATHOM architecture allows greater flexibility in managing more complex and decentralized domains, including video networks that span both managed service provider and client infrastructure," stated Mark Bearden, PhD, Project Director, Applied Global Technologies. "I am pleased with the functionality of this version and I believe customers will be as well."
