AGT Develops New INTELLIGENT
VOICE-ACTIVATED CAMERA CONTROL SYSTEM for Video Conferencing
The new system supports multi-camera control from a seamless
PTT microphone system
Rockledge, FL April 22, 2004 - Applied Global
Technologies, an innovative technologies company offering
reliable and worry-free managed services for IP audio, data
and video communications, announces the creation of
a new INTELLIGENT VOICE-ACTIVATED CAMERA CONTROL SYSTEM
for its video conferencing customers. It allows users
an automated visual experience that is consistent with the
spontaneous audio experience. The system positions video
cameras on the right person at the right time.
"Over time, AGT engineers have worked with multiple vendors
providing PTT technology. However, each of these Off-the-Shelf
solutions has come with its own unique set of limitations
in custom room integrations," stated Ben Atha, Chief
Technical Officer, AGT. "With this new PTT technology,
AGT's Video Integration Design team can provide its customers
with an adaptable camera system integrating multiple presets,
multiple cameras, multiple microphones, and even multiple
rooms integrated into a single seamless PTT system."
The new technology is especially effective in distance learning
classrooms, courtrooms, auditoriums and large A/V conferencing
rooms. Now, when a video communication participant
becomes part of a discussion, appropriate cameras are automatically
adjusted to provide an optimal video picture of that participant.
Switching is done instantly and is activated by audio signals.
AGT's system integrates with AMX NetLinx systems, Polycom
Vortex Systems and any camera. The new technology is
currently being installed in three distance learning classrooms
for the U.S. Third Army in Kuwait. AGT Research Scientist
Ben Hitt was the lead developer of this tool.
"This system was designed to solve the limitations our
engineers had encounter with other PTT systems," commented
Ben Hitt, Research Scientist, AGT. "The major limitations
involved scalability and flexibility. This system incorporates
more microphones and cameras than the other systems."
