AGT Provides Critical Multi-Conferencing
Capability To Army National Guard
Governors and Department of Homeland Security link to
54 Adjutants General
Rockledge, FL April 14, 2004 - Applied Global
Technologies, an innovative technologies company offering
reliable and worry-free managed services for IP audio, data
and video communications, announces that the National
Guard Bureau, working through federal systems contractor Science
Applications International Corporation (SAIC), has awarded
it the contract to equip the offices of its 54 Adjutants General
with video conferencing technology.
"The National Guard Bureau is in the process of a large-scale
modernization of its communications capabilities with the
aim of optimizing response time and readiness," said
Susan Dix of the Joint Staff Architecture Branch of the National
Guard. "Video conferencing will play an important role."
In addition, AGT will outfit 32 National Guard States with
the Polycom MGC-50 platform and upgrade 22 current systems.
SAIC and AGT will provide teams for the installation, integration
and upgrades of these systems during the second quarter
of 2004.
"Since post September 11, 2001, we have seen a movement
to align our 'First Responders' and the Department of Homeland
Security communications infrastructures into a unified seamless
integrated platform," stated Mike Garvey, VP of Federal

especially video conferencing, taking center stage as the
medium of choice for communications in the federal, civilian
and DOD communities."
The National Guard Adjutants General will use Polycom's ViewStation
EX and VS4000 group video communications systems across the
United States for both secure and non-secure modes of video
conferencing, connecting to the video networks serving the
governor's offices in each state and the Department of Homeland
Security. The National Guard is currently in the process
of deploying 37 Polycom ViewStation EX and 17 VS4000 systems
in the Adjutants General offices across the country.
